We are encouraging parents to maximise the government
support available to them this summer, by visiting the Childcare Choices website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk and using the childcare calculator to find out what support they could get. The attached
document from Childcare Choices provides the top information parents need to know about Tax Free Childcare and 30 hours child care offers.
30 hours childcare from September 2018 - Make sure
parents apply and reconfirm their eligibility
- New parents who wish to access 30 hours childcare from September 2018 must have a 30 hours code with a valid start date on or before 31
August 2018 and are encouraged to apply for their code now, any codes after this date will not be eligible until January 2019. Parents without a valid code by 31 August will still be able to
access the universal 15 hours offer in September, but not the extended 15 hours making 30 hours in total. Any hours above the universal entitlement will be a private funding matter between
the provider and the parent.
- Existing Parents - Final 30 hours confirmation information will be sent to all providers today, 13 July 2018 as the final reminder before
the summer break of parents who have valid codes for September 2018 and those who still need to reconfirm their 30 hours codes in the coming weeks. It is the parents responsibility to reconfirm
their codes via their childcare service accounts. If a parent cannot reconfirm or requires support they must contact the Childcare Service directly on 0300 1234097. Existing parents who
do not have a valid reconfirmation date on or before 31 August 2018 will still be able to access the universal 15 hours offer in September, but not the extended 15 hours making 30 hours in
total. Any hours above the universal entitlement will be a private funding matter between the provider and the parent.
